So not so long ago I went into a salon and asked for a trim, the hair dresser took a look at my hair and replied with 'say no more fam'. I left the salon with tears welling up in my eyes and a hair five inches shorter.  Until this shampoo came to the rescue, I was scrolling down my instagram feed until I found a post raving about this and I had to get it. Went to boots and splurged on the a set of the shampoo and conditioner.

FAST shampoo and conditioner

I only have an image of the conditioner, because I threw away the empty shampoo bottle *oops*.

I have to admit I didn't like the shampoo at first because I'm so used to my herbal essences and because I wasn't seeing any results immediately. I stopped using it for a while and then one day when I have run out of all my other shampoos and conditioners I was forced to use it. After a month of using it I was receiving comments on how long my hair has gotten and I realised that its been working.

I've been using it for around 6 months and my hair has grown at least 5 inches. I am in love with this product, however our infatuation was short lived. The shampoo smells really good and lathers up nicely. The conditioner does what a normal conditioner does and tbh there's not much else I could say about it because I thought it was quiet a mediocre product; it does however smell nice.

Currently I'm not planning on repurchasing it, don't get me wrong I love this product and would love for my hair to grow even long, but I just don't want to overuse it to the point where it doesn't affect the length of my hair anymore. I believe for this product's full potential it should be used for short period of times every once in a while. I'm also happy with my current hair length and want to focus on thickening my hair.

The Mercedes-Benz fashion week is on their second day already?! I have to say I am perpetually surprised by what is put out on the runway. As distinct as each show is I am able to see the same thread running through all the collections, the 2015 spring trends are becoming more evident.

Without further ado...

Carmen Marc Valvo

I was truly impressed by this fashion show. I loved the use of graphic, bold and contrasting lines to outline the garments, I thought the illusion of a slimmer body created with the lining and the mesh/ sheer panelling used at the sides was very flattering. The clothing looked light and rippled by the motion of the models, the cutouts and leather belt added a harsher dynamic. The collection was kept very simplistic in terms of the color scheme with monochromes, however there was a pop of corals, blues, pastels and metallics. There were a variety of items showcased from pleated skirts, jumpsuits to bodysuits. In terms of styling I adored the bold red lip, the low bun and the sliver streak that moved down the fringe, the sliver in the hair reminded me of Anna from frozen.

Rebecca Minkoff

I have to start off by saying the live band next to the runway was a really amazing touch. The entire runway had blue lightening and it seemed to be the main color of the collection, with both light and dark blues. On the runway there was also pinks, coral and of course white. The runway incorporated lace, stripes and floral patterns. I really enjoyed the cutouts on the lower back that formed squares or triangles, it was this little element of surprise that I thought was great. I also thought the ruffles were really well done. I have to say the 3D prints in the clothing at the end was brilliant although I couldn't see it from my side of the screen I'm sure it was a really fun element to view. The constantly talked about phone charger bracelet did not make an appearance on the runway however.

These vintage 50s sunglasses were featured on the runway during NYFW and Cara Delevingne was spotted wearing them in NYC this week. Not only do these bad boys look great they also protect your eyes from the harmful sun rays.

The blinder sunglasses are must have for me this upcoming summer and spring.

Today was the first day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion week at New York and it definitely did not disappoint. The variety and diversity showcased by each designer was truly astounding. From pastels to metallics to even lace, it was all there.

Nicholas K

The week commenced with Nicholas K, who had a very strong point of view on the idea of spring. The models all looked fierce and strong with the very bold Middle Eastern inspired under eye liquid liner. The collection was very Middle Eastern deserts and safari inspired I thought, I loved the idea of the head scarf and turbans that were outlined by fringe. The garments were an army green color with a spin on the camo print, there were else taupe, black, grey and white pieces. I was adoring how loose the clothing were and the way the shirts were wrapped to criss cross, it all looked so effortless and light. The leather and buckle details in the belts and the straps that went across the chest added a very edgy vibe. The silhouette of the knee length trousers contributed to the adventurous character that was created. Finally I thought the styling was on point, the fringe bracelets  and the rope necklace with the fringe extensions were phenomenal.

BCBGMaxazria

The collection was very soft with pastels and patterns, the sheerness of the fabrics softened the patterns. My favorite feature were the the low pockets, they made the outfit look super modern and elegant. The garments were flowing and dancing as the models walked the runway, the loose fit of the dresses was balanced with a belt that cinched at the waist; The belts were tied in very sleek bows.

Richard Chai

The runway show started with bright neons and progressed to metallics and pastels. There were lots of blues, maroons, white, grey  I thought the graphic prints definitely made a statement and stood out on the runway, along with the striped prints. This collection felt like a modern take on grunge however with brighter and more illustrative patterns. I thought the mix of hard and soft was really well done. The zippers used definitely made the outfits look more cool and hip, as well as the sheer panelling used with the patterns. I also thought the high platform strapped shows and drop waist were particularly trendy. The show ended with lots of sequences.

Tadashi Shoji

The atmosphere created felt very fairytale and the clothing looked very elegant and royalty suitable. It felt as if the models were invited to a royal afternoon tea in the garden, it was truly whimsical and magical. Lots of lace, floral lace and floral patterns were used, the way the designer layered the lace over the dresses was very smart. I also liked how modest the collection was, the cutouts across the shoulders and just above the hem line were covered in a mesh, I thought the transparency factor kept the collection modern without taking away from its sophistication. I really enjoyed the pleats in the silk skirts. The gold and navy blue added to the royalty factor. I thought the crop tops and pencil skirts kept the collection youthful and trendy. The garments had lots of embellishments and sparkly sheers, as well as beautiful embroidery workmanship. My favorite dress silhouette was the long dress with the long shoulder cape attached, so classy!

Desigual

Desigual's runway was the brightest and most fun show for tonight, with mainly yellows and corals.  I thought the entire runway screamed spring, the floral patterns and the floral crowns as well as the large, colorful dangle earrings. It was so Desigual! This collection was more warmer with more shorts and lighter garments. The models were all playful and full of life, the venue was bursting with energy. I thought the comical speech bubble was brilliant. I also noticed the bead works on the clothes which gave the collection a more bohemian feel. The show ended was Desigual's trademark patterned dresses.

* P.S. look out for the updates for the other runway shows reviews *
As summer comes to an end and school commences, I wanted to reminisce all the lovely trips where there was no worry in the world that will distract me from chilling underneath the warm sun. This particular trip was during my study leave for the coming up finals, it was a great way to unwind and prepare myself mentally and physically for what was about to come.

My family booked a runway vacation in a little island in the middle of nowhere and it was perfect! The island is called Sir Bani Yas, we stayed at the Al Sahel villa resort. The entire environment was resembling the African Savanna, and I fell in love with the straw ceilings and astray animals that were roaming around the entire resorts. It truly felt as if I was in the wild.

A gazelle posing for its picture to be taken.

Sunbathing under the blazing sun, oh how I miss those days.

A full plate of colorful food to break my fast.

Chilling at the private pool.

Stalking a peacock...

More stalking...

More food...

The departures lounge, such a sad and heartbreaking day.

Boat ride back to the main land.

Vessyl is not yet available, but it could be pre-ordered now.

The first time that I have heard of this product, I knew that I needed this in my life. Vessyl is a bottle that automatically identifies the liquid that has been placed in it and calculates the amount that you have drunk in that given day or in a certain period of time. What's great about this product is that all this data could be viewed on your smartphone.

The sleek and simple design of Vessyl is what makes this particular product super stylish and would look good sitting on your desk. You could also pick a color from the range available.

I have to say the way Vessyl was marketed enhances the bottle.

I will have to wait and see how well it performs in real life and what people think of it before considering to purchase one. You can pre-order Vessyl for $99 and it will retail for $199.

Dubai is a spectacular city to visit, with only five days to explore all of what it has to offer it definitely wasn't enough. I have to say I spent a lot of time shopping, which is insane. I followed the motto of 'shop till you drop', the malls in Dubai are ridiculously large!

Dubai has some of the most amazing restaurants, who doesn't splurge on a good meal every once in a while?!

Anyway I will just leave you with some of the highlights to my trip.

I have to say I was utterly impressed by the new Hamad airport, the shops were all spectacular. I've definitely never been to such a fun and interesting airport. I obviously had to take the typical and cliche teddy bear by Urs Fischer picture that is situated right in the middle of the airport.

The best place in the airport was obviously the food court or the eat street 1048.

Yumm.. Sea food!!

The gold souq is astoundingly beautiful, aren't all these bracelets gorgeous?!

I thought this painting was interesting and I was so curious to find out what it was made out of it. I realized that it was made out of recycled food packages that are quiet popular in Qatar.

Another cliche picture from the airplane, but I couldn't resist.

I have to say the hotel was architecturally astonishing, all the rooms are spread across the entire landscape so that they could look over the horse racing field hence the name "Al Meydan" which means the field in arabic.

I thought it was lovely how all the hallways are lined with the balcony view and it looks down to the lobby and the restaurants.

The hotel is made so that you could enjoy watching the horse competitions from the balcony of your room which is perfect. Sadly there aren't any competitions in the summer :/

Horses were everywhere in this hotel, the patterns found outside rooms are assembled out of horseshoes... Brilliant!

At the food court of the Marina mall in Dubai you get to enjoy the staggering skyline of the marina, however it was a very humid night and so the pictures do look hazy but nonetheless it still looks incredible.

This is the view from the balcony of the huge field, just enjoying some morning tea and the morning newspaper (lol naah I don't really read the newspaper just though it was a nice touch to the photo though).

This shop was probably my favorite, I mean it had the wackiest things ever! The posters that they sell are a must have, I will definitely be going back to purchase some of the posters they have for my bedroom in the future.

This is another store that we walked through and these chairs are gorgeous, I mean its umm Kalthoom for God's sake.

Dubai mall is stunning in general but these butterfly strands are just impeccable.

More butterflies, this was on a window display to one of the designer stores (can't remember which one it was... oops).

Seriously Dubai has the best shops ever!
Superman... meh

but look at the details on the joker! its immaculately done, I think.

Grass horses on one of the hotel's roundabout, they look more like ponies though but it's still adorable.

The chill out cafe was a magnificent experience, I mean its an ice cafe in the middle of a desert. Some people mind find it odd that I actually went to a below zero cafe but hey it was super entertaining.
You also get a free hot chocolate upon entering.

There was a miniature ice sculpture of the burj khalifa tower although it still wasn't short enough for the cafe.

Chilling inside a somewhat warm igloo.

The ice Queen and castle, felt like I was Elsa from frozen sitting on that chair.

Bumble Bee

Also got the chance to watch transformers live in the DeceptionClone performance, felt bad for the guy inside the costume he looked like he was struggling to move in such a large armor.

The cheesecake factory has some of the most delicious cheesecakes and pastas, loved the meal and the service was great. I feel as if I'm writing a review for this restaurant, but seriously it was great. No wonder its always crazy busy and crowded.

One of the ultimate highlights to my trip is getting locked up in a room for 60 minutes, HA! The hint hunt game was very challenging and I adored all the clues and solving that I had to do, I truly felt like Sherlock Holmes. Funny my sisters and I only managed to escape during the last two minutes but apparently that impressive so woohoo.

The dynamite shrimps at P.F.Chang's are divine, although they were extremely spicy for my liking. I still enjoyed every bite of the meal. I also loved the summer plum juice that I had along with it.

How cute are these dolls by Mua Mua of Christian Louboutin, Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, really wanted one of these. I mean look at that mini Louboutin heel.

A 155 million year old dinosaur which belongs to the family Diplodocidae, imported from America. It is installed right at the main entrance of Dubai Mall, apparently this dinosaur was discovered recently in 2008.

Large shoe at the level shoe district.

'Hun, you've got more issues than vogue'
I felt like some famous fashion blogger as I was sipping my hot chocolate and relishing the cheese platter.

Another show in celebration of summer in the summer festival 2014 in Dubai. The power puff girls sining happy by Pharrell Williams.

The sky was looking marvelously bright and blue.

A Middle Eastern actor,  خالد آمين.

This post is filled with cliches, I don't think another one will hurt. Heres the famous tall tower Burj Khalifa, not only do you have to crane your neck but its ridiculously difficult to get the entire tower in one picture.

Hope you guys enjoyed a glimpse of my wonderful stay in Dubai.
I might be doing a haul of everything that I bought because its Dubai and its almost impossible not to have an insane shopping spree.

Take care,
Haya xx
